Scott Francoeur received his BFA in painting at Bridgewater State University in 2006. He’s been showing in galleries throughout New England since then. His work has been selected for National Juried shows at Gallery 55 in Natick as well as the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset. Scott is one of the founding members of SNAC (The Southern New England Artist Community) whose goal is to provide artists with a platform to display, sell and share their work with the public. Since the group’s inception in 2008, the group has expanded considerably and continues to hold regular exhibitions. Scott’s subject mater varies from series to series. His work is often allegorical focusing on retelling the tale of sometimes fictitious, but often times, historic events.
“My work is fueled by a spark of inspiration that then takes on a life all its own. I do not always know where the painting will lead. Conflicts resolve themselves as if the painting has a vision of its own. My paintings are a complex relationship between texture, color, and line. A piece begins by creating texture and adding color intuitively. I paint while riding high on emotion, which influences the various marks on the surface.” -Scott Francoeur
