The driving force of this exhibit is the belief that poetry matters— that it broadens our perception of ourselves and of the world we inhabit. It enables us to savor the richness and complexity of our shared experiences and to better understand them. It opens doors to the mysteries and meaning of our place in the world. It challenges convention. It calls to question our current culture of instant gratification. When we read poetry, we are lifted beyond our everyday, trivial affairs and are connected with something undefinable and of permanence.

Poetic Visions 2026— A Unique Collaboration Between Poetry and Visual Art
True Grit Art Gallery presents Poetic Visions 2026, an exciting annual exhibition where poetry and visual art come together in powerful dialogue.
How It Works— We invite poets to submit up to 3 poems through July 30. From the submissions, the gallery selects five poems rich with imagery and metaphor. These selected poems will be professionally enlarged, printed, and hung alongside visual artworks in the exhibit.
Registered visual artists are randomly assigned one of the five poems through a lottery. Each artist creates one original artwork in response to their assigned poem resulting in a vibrant and diverse exhibition filled with unique interpretations..
Poets whose work is chosen will be invited to read their poems live at the Opening Reception.
