Lindsay Nygaard- Lindsay Nygaard gets inspiration for her paintings through observations and interactions with nature. She keeps a camera and sketchbook nearby to document her interpretations either through photography or by writing and sketching.
She believes that inspiration can be found anywhere- it’s not necessarily something one needs to purposefully search out. It can be as simple as glancing towards the tangled brush encircling a parking lot, and noticing a boldly marked spider; or when watering geraniums and spying the perfectly camouflaged katydid perched upon a leaf; or even the stillness of a turkey vulture, patiently waiting atop the crown of an old tree.
