"Horse Hair 254"
Original pottery piece by Ron Mello. Burnished patterns are created during the firing process by applying horse hair and feathers to the heated ware. The burning carbonaceous material creates smoke patterns and carbon trails on the surface that remain as decoration after the ware cools. Prospective urn design w/detachable lid (carved wood handle). Suitable for dry use only. Approx. 7.3"H
