LUNGS was created during the quarantine of 2020. The female image returns once again and often in my paintings. Here, she is a deity wearing the crown of Saturn, represented by its symbol. The symbolic meaning of Saturn is it is a planet of Karma, and that in order for change people will need to come together not only to work hard, but with discipline and responsibility and restriction. The lungs themselves represent life force, as well as the flowers which bloom from them. Both our humanness and nature work in tandem to build and breakdown old ways, creating new growth for our future.
