In early spring I placed some forsythia branches in a vase by my kitchen window, hoping to distract myself from the onslaught of upsetting news. The birds are ceramic and are constant companions on my window sill. They signify the life giving force of spring and the anticipation to enjoy a better tomorrow surrounded once again by a flock of friends and family.
