Sketching is different from painting all together. Sure, you can always just sketch the image that you want to paint, however, at the end of the day, it does not really amount to much. As a painter myself, I do not see any merit with sketching my work before I actually paint them. If you want to be a good painter, then I highly suggest that you paint with your heart.
